Dog shows offer a great opportunity for you to spend time with your dog but it is not a pastime which suits everyone.
Showing is not as easy as it looks. A great deal of work and preparation is needed if you intend to venture down this path. You need to learn to show your dog to advantage, and the dog needs to learn to stand, show and move at the correct pace so that it can be assessed by the judge. However if you enjoy the show scene, then there is no greater pleasure than showing a beautiful Samoyed perfectly groomed and trained for the ring.
The SBOL holds one Open and one Championship show every year. The first of these is an Open show which is held in February. Generally, it is the first time that exhibitors have the opportunity of getting together in the new year which makes it a very friendly and enjoyable occasion.
Our Championship Show is always held in November. We have had to change the venues of this over the last few years and this year is no exception. The Show will take place at the Lutterworth Sports Centre in Leicestershire. We try, each year, to alternate between a Breed Judge and an all-rounder for this show
