Showing Dogs

Dog shows offer a great opportunity for you to spend time with your dog but it is not a pastime which suits everyone.

Showing Your SamoyedShowing is not as easy as it looks. A great deal of work and preparation is needed if you intend to venture down this path. You need to learn to show your dog to advantage, and the dog needs to learn to stand, show and move at the correct pace so that it can be assessed by the judge. However if you enjoy the show scene, then there is no greater pleasure than showing a beautiful Samoyed perfectly groomed and trained for the ring.

The SBOL is holding one Open and two Championship shows this year (2024). The first is an Open show which this year  is being held in conjunction with Southern Counties Championship Show at Newbury Racecourse on 31st May 2024. Judge Mrs Pauline Davis (Breed Specialist)

Our First Championship Show is being held in conjunction with National Working & Pastoral breeds at Malvern on 13th July 2024, making this back to back Championship Shows. Judge Mrs Liz Ballantine (Breed Specialist).

Our second Championship Show is on November 10th. Judge Mrs Angie Challenger (Non-breed Specialist). We have had to change the venues for this show over the last few years but this year we are, after last years successful show,  returning again to the Lutterworth Sports Centre in Leicestershire. We hold special classes at this show, to help upcoming judges gain judging experience.
